Lost, Legally Blind's New Heavenly Sounding Single

Lost Review by Legally Blind

I woke up this morning and my heart was a little aching. I kind of felt lost. And what do I see, Legally Blind comes out with a song titled Lost. Well if it ain't god sending me a sign, I don't know what it is.

So here I was, plugging my headphones on my computer and starting the song that would leave me awestruck. It starts real soft and in a way I couldn't help but be reminded of Steve Vai's song For The Love of God. The tone, the way it flows, I can't help but believe that Tyler listens to Steve Vai, Joe Satriani or other 80's guitarists while searching for ideas. It then comes in harder, which I thought would set the pace for the rest. But no I was wrong it alternates between the chorus which is dynamic with a voice that is blended through a slight reverb, a kind of bridge like vocable chanting and some soothing melodies reminding me once again of Satriani, Vai and in a way of those 80's ballad yet with a touch of harshness. We've got some Hammett, Cantrell looks like soloing going through the song at certain moments which was very cool and in a way can be very charming for those older listeners looking for good memories of their childhood listening to breath taking fast sweep picking solos and melodies. If not mistaken, this time, the drummer is Sam from Joyless Bodies. In any case, whether it be Sam or Lucas, the job of following and filling in, closely yet not too much, with the guitar, was masterfully achieved.

Overall, the song is great, very commercial but yet, delivered with new add-ons such as the vocables and in my opinion a more guitar orientated track. It surely has drive and will be a charm for any kind of rock to metal orientated audience. The mix is assured by Desolation Studio, serving the dish well made, tender and yet cooked to perfection. The artwork is done by none other than William Richards, the singer and Cobainesque riffer of Joyless Bodies, and blends well with the title of the track. Do not miss them at their next show probably in the surroundings of Montreal.
