September 5th, Bâtiment 7, Bad Objection, Mildew, Slackin Idles and more!

September 5th there was a show at Bâtiment 7. A maniacal show for sure! Everyone was there cunts, batters, mad hatter's, clowns and more underage uncivilized pot smokers. Girls boys, trans, and more were at the rendez vous for a five band lineup. I came up dressed, stressed and with little rest.

First up was Mildew, they crammed up the venue and tore down any worries of a bad show. Their act was on point, even better than anything I'd saw before. They seemed to be willing to destroy the place if possible. James the bassist was caught crowdsurfing and playing bass once again, Matteo was seen making love with the feedback of his amp with the guitar posted right in front! What was missing tho was a drummer to smash his kit. But I know, money is scarce and the kit wasn't his so their was no possibility of utterly destroying the whole kit! But they swept the kids off their feet.

Stay Out by Mitch

Afterwards, I was out, it was too hot. Slackin Idle were about to go on, playing their infamous Scooby Doo punked cover. Their set was tight and right and fast that's for sure. They really embody the concept of what is 2000s skater punk like. The boys and their music it just is a fucking vibe and a nostalgic feeling that flooded my heart and lungs as I saw them go. They've got attention going and I do believe someone'll pick up their act before long!

East Brothers by Mitch

Next up, two Californian bands one called Stay Out and East Brothers. They were great, but not knowing them, I wasn't attached to their songs not their performance. But that's what it is when you start touring out of your hometown. But nonetheless they played well, although sounding very American paced. What I mean is they've got that sound that tingles toward corporate sounding records because of course they want to make it. It isn't bad but I think they should let loose a tad more. I think that the crowd quite enjoyed their presence nonetheless and the bands had a blast seeing how we kids do it here in Montreal. They weren't used to having such wilderness in a room I believe but they surely left pleased and thinking it was worth traveling the border and dealing with all the bullshit.

Lastly, Bad Objection. Me and Julian, former player for much beloved band Cash, hop onstage to introduce Bad Erection. Giggles, laughters and more are issued and then, feedback is channeled all over the place and we all get flunked up and down during their incredible set. Julian looks at me and says, they're great, you think they'll make it? Yeah they'll do so just a question of time, I reply. The kids are back onstage, someone, a promoter warns them he'll cut the sound of they overplay past the time. Fuck that, by accident a fan bamboozles Jack's bass amps and later on, the mic is cut, Jack rages and keeps playing and the band end it with a blast of rage and sheer chaos onstage with fans retaliating to the cause.

Bad Objection by Mitch

Overall, the night was great, though two things must be adressed. The American promoter who organized the show was a dick head. Not wanting to pay an extra fee for the show finishing late, he kept warning Bad Objection that he's cut the power of they played later on. Problem was, it was already late and it wasn't bad objection's fault, they hopped on stage and just wanted to play. The promoter kept bossing around bands and all and we here in Montreal do not take this well. So fuck @eltoropromotions and I stick to my word! Secondly, a guy taught he could say sexual comments and harass girl throughout the night. Well dear, all the sexual bullshit that happened over the years at Traxide was never talked much about. But many are aware of it. Now if this were to happen over again at other shows, know well that it won't be tolerated and this time, no one will shut down any articles or sayings concerning the matter. So keep your hands, tongue and words for yourself. Free love was part of the 60's, but that was far away times, in 2025, consent and a thousand more things are part of the equation, so please everyone, be respectful! Last thing, I have no photos of the show due to a photographer informing me that he doesn't give away the pictures, well sadly truth is, I go to concert on my own fees, I'm broke, always am, and I write articles for free that is until I'll be hired by a company. So if anyone believes I'll pay to have photos in an article well, fuck you. I barely pay my rent, I quit smoking at time to go to the next show. So please, I don't keep your photos, I simply put them in an article, tag you and hope that we all make it one day. Thanks Mitch, another photograph who allowed me to post his photos.
