September 12, Heavenly Blue, Chop Sue Me, Caniche 666 and Fielding

Friday September 12, Caniche 666, Chop Sue Me, Heavenly Blue were playing on the same stage at Casa del Popolo to a lot of enthusiastic fans who came for different bands and reasons. A melting pot is the best word I could've used to describe the night.  First of, Fielding . I'll say it again, FUCKING GREAT LIVE BAND. The sound was cool, the vocals and the ensemble was tight, the aggressive picking yet contained was driving me dizzy! Their songs were sweet and electrifying. Together these guys just seem like the happiest of family onstage, a reminder of CSNY onstage back when they could tolerate each other. Their single sounded definitely more assumed and grooving onstage then on digital platform! Having listened recently to Hey Hey, My My the intro to the wield live album of neil young and the crazy horse, I would say this album pictures well the energy of Fielding onstage if you have never seen them. I ensue everyone to go see them live at least once. Plus, you might get ...

November 10th, At Blue Dog, War Doves, Charlotte Renaud, 7Gardens and Mellonella

Blue Dog, October, Movember 10, A Sunday more like Funday. A lot of coons are there. The Snatchers are watching and taking pictures, Ryan Brio the yet to be self-acclaimed Prince-a-like do it all musician is there and even Poolgirl are seen watching tonights incredible lineup. The bands are, Charlotte Renaud a solo artist who glided gracefully across a piano while singing, War Doves the Megadeth lyrically-themed a-like band, Mellonella a Rush-like prog fast paced band and finally 7Gardens whom could be held as the Canadian Eagles without all the drama until now that is. Here we go, I came, t'was cold! I ran up the streets left, right, up, down, dizzy and out. But luckily for me here I am at the corner of Saint Laurent and Duluth, right next to the venue. I put my hat on, it's greatly effing freezing. No alarming psychedelic inducing drugs have been taken so to no one must I state my delirium. Far away eyes spy and see people are there, they're chirping and giggling, smo...

Meeting the Birds Of Prrrey while they are Still Growing In Place.

Image
Birds Of Prrrey are one of the rare alternative indie rock band that have swept my heart since their emergence in the local scene around 2023. They recently released around July 6th, a EP titled Yet, We're Still Growing In Place . A title that is quite contradictory to what the group has been experiencing on the street levels. This years, they played Pouzza, they will soon, on the 26th of July, play Birdball which will be happening at La Sottorena serving as their EP release party. Why the fuck to they celebrate so late when their listenings has gone up and everybody has posted their story about being in heaven while listening to the new release weeks ago? Well simply because nothing is a hurry, it'll all come along in due time. The band has no interest in stressing things out, they go on gradually, giving blood were needed without ever straining themselves to a point of disdain of the once hobbyesque music making activity now becomed a more serious concern. They passed on CK...

Rain dish, a walk through nostalgia

Image
Picture yourself on a rainy day, walking in the forest Apparition, the latest EP available everywhere Rain Dish, in person Rain dish, aged 21, lives in Netherlands, Rain dish knows what simplicity is. He's gritted his teeth against it, he's elaborated an album based on sole momentum and dedication to the inspiration that came as he was recording. It's rough on the edges for sure, one mic was used to capture the voice and instruments, but it bares with hard times, it comforts the soul looking for a sleezy rest. There's torment, people shipwrecked by love and soft moments where voice and guitar creep on lavish pop sounding songs to announce how the singer feels. The climate in Netherlands is often described as moody, almost depressive because it never shines too much neither gets very snowy, it's always in the middle, rainy and gloomy. This album echos along the forecast of Rain Dish's homeplace, encompassing nostalgia and nature. To put it simply, h...

Carpet Burn, a Burning Hot Flamming Single by 20 Minutes Till Sunrise

Image
Carpet Burn Review by 20MinutesTillSunrise What luck it came out a day before due! A ride through memories of Twenty One Pilots and Red Hot Chili Pepper, while trying to stop the motion my feet were imprisoned in. It's groovy, simple yet catchy, fidèle to their good vibes. A laid back feel with vocals in the background caressing the listeners ears. It almost feels as if I was right besides the guitarist as he recorded those clear sounding mellow concealed riffs. A solo a la John Frusciante not too long, not too hard yet questioning the direction they'll take as they glide in the bridge to end up hooking us back with their splendid chorus. In the end, the button on-repeat was pushed and not only was the carpet burning, but so were my feet. So if ever you feel down, bored out, disillusioned, or have a mourning heart, give yourself a treat and let your feet catch fire while listening to Luka and the virtuoso George going all out on Carpet Burn . Once that's done, like me,...
